The Sales Director, Business Development will work on the Growth & Partnerships team, helping identify and drive opportunities to build our servicing business. This role will have a direct impact on top-priority organizational goals. The ideal candidate is a resourceful leader who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
 
What You Will Do:
  • Drive new business by identifying, qualifying, and developing new partnership opportunities for Unifund / RDS.
  • Collaborate closely with the Growth & Partnerships team to strategize creative outreach campaigns and determine priority of outreach based on potential impact in the consumer credit issuer space, specifically global credit card issuers, financial technology (FinTech) & BuyNowPayLater (BNPL).   
  • Manage the first stages of the Sales & Business Development pipeline by performing initial outreach and nurturing leads through various inbound and outbound channels, including phone, email and social
  • Product Extension – Conduct research on value, serviceability, collectability, etc. of alternative servicing opportunities.
  • Review, complete and submit Requests for Information and RFPs.
  • Evaluate quality of opportunities and decide feasibility of taking steps to acquire: requires collaboration with Legal, Sales and IT departments.
  • Manage new client onboarding and recertification/audit process.
  • Maintain strong grasp of industry trends for strategic planning and forecasting
 
What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong passion for our mission, for E-commerce, finance and/or SAAS. 
  • Proven experience leading and managing 3-12 month, complex and strategic sales cycles. Experience with full life cycle sales including lead generation, lead qualification, outreach, through to deal closing.
  • Creativity and strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving work environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. MBA preferred.
  • Four years of general business and sales experience with preference in collection & recovery industry
  • Three years industry or related experience, Credit Issuer, FinTech or BNPL fields preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with outgoing personality and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and numbers oriented. Financial analysis experience and ability to read financial statements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills to build and manipulate financial models.
  • Demonstrate a high level of continuous process improvement to ensure efficiency and compliance.
