Job Purpose

The Director of Compliance reports to the Compliance Officer of Savista, LLC and is responsible for executing tasks and responsibilities associated with the organization’s compliance management system and Bad Debt corporate compliance program. The Director of Compliance will maintain the organization’s written compliance program to prevent or reduce regulatory violations of the law, protect consumers from non-compliant acts and omissions, oversight of the organization’s vendors and service providers for compliance with consumer protection laws and other duties as required. Strong written, verbal, and public speaking skills required.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Monitors information regarding local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including but not limited to the HIPAA, CFPB, FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, EFTA, ECOA, UDAAP, GBLA, Truth in Caller ID Act and applicable data security laws and provides updates and initial analysis to Compliance Officer.
  • Collects and assembles data regarding the organization’s compliance program including the performance results of the organization’s compliance/ethics efforts, the state of the organization’s CFPB readiness, the status of all complaints and the resolution thereof for review by the Compliance Officer and Compliance Committee.
  • Works with the Compliance Officer, the Senior Information Security Analyst, and the Vice President of Operations to implement and maintain workflow routines that ensure accounts are worked in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures and only in jurisdictions where the appropriate licensing and bonding is maintained.
  • Oversees the Senior Compliance Specialist to ensure Company litigation and process breakdowns are being monitored and remedied.
  • Oversees the Senior Compliance Auditor to ensure the timely completion of audits.
  • Oversee the development, implementation and reporting of the organization’s Compliance Program and reports trends and emerging risks to OOI’s Compliance Council monthly.
  • Administers software and the process for logging, responding to, tracking and remediating consumer related compliance issues and complaints, including but not limited to, complaints generated through the CFPB Consumer Complaint Portal or received from consumers, attorneys, local, state, and federal regulatory authorities, and the Better Business Bureau.
  • Assists the human resources department in designing remedial action responses to noncompliant collector behavior, conducts collector and employee interviews to identify the root cause of noncompliant behavior.
  • Oversees the organizations FCRA dispute resolution program and related workflow, including direct disputes and disputes received through the E-OSCAR process.


  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years Director-level experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Knowledge of adult learning methodologies
  • Advanced knowledge of the compliance requirements presented to the organization under HIPAA, the CFPB, FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, EFTA, ECOA, UDAAP, GLBA and related laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of complaint resolution processes
  • Experience drafting policies and procedures for compliance with consumer financial laws
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the Board of Directors.
  • Microsoft Office, Excellent Excel (Pivots and VLOOKUPs) and Word skills

Preferred Skills but Not Required

  • Master’s degree
  • ACA Compliance officer designation
