Job Description:

Global Markets Credit ("GMC") is responsible for ensuring robust and

consistent credit underwriting for Global Markets lending activities,

which includes financing facilities secured by mortgage related assets.

Within GMC the Global Credit Credit Officer lead will be expected to

develop strong subject matter expertise in US residential mortgage

related financing products and credit analysis of the underlying

companies. The credit officer will work closely with banking and risk

partners and help drive loan growth with minimal oversight. Coverage

will include a portfolio of warehouse facilities, single-family-rental

financings, trading and treasury lines.

Key responsibilities include:

- Manage a complex portfolio of clients via actively monitoring the

portfolio including changes in credit profile and compliance with credit


-Independently assess the credit worthiness, including due diligence of

borrowers and/or trading counterparties

-Establish appropriate internal risk ratings for clients and implement accurate adjustments throughout the client's credit life cycle

-Structure complex transactions and negotiate complex credit documentation to mitigate risk appropriately

- Review new business opportunities being presented by the front line, provide early feedback on structure/terms and client selection in the screening process to ensure transactions fit within risk appetite and governance routines

- Execute under delegated approval authority. Partner with the front line unit in recommending transactions for risk approval and respond to risk review and challenge

- Partner with the front line unit in preparation of underwriting materials, manage overall creation and submission of credit approval memos, approve credit memos on behalf of the line of business and secure risk approvals. Engage partners including other parts of Enterprise Credit, client coverage areas, legal, and market risk as required

- Ongoing monitoring of transactions including client financial and portfolio performance, including escalation of any issues; periodic reporting on pipeline; and responding to ad-hoc regulatory and internal reporting requests

- Engagement in various other aspects of credit underwriting including development of internal analytics, policy and procedures, scorecards, monitoring, developing junior staff etc.

- Support firm wide Enterprise Credit initiatives including adherence with administrative processes and liaise with applicable stakeholders across the firm on emerging topics as needed

- Engaging directly with all internal audit and credit partners and externally with regulators as required

*Required Skills:

“Must” have these skills to be minimally qualified. - BA/BS degree required; Finance or Accounting majors preferred.

- 5-7+ years of experience in financial services. Relevant prior experience may include roles in: credit risk management, underwriting, asset management, origination

- The candidate will have had experience of reviewing a variety of asset backed transactions and analyzing credit fundamentals in order to make an appropriate risk-mitigating decisions

- Candidate should exhibit strong analytical skills, personal drive, individual initiative, a sense of urgency, and responsiveness, with a desire to grow, learn, and take on increasing levels of responsibility

- Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of risk, support, and business partners

- Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint, along with ability to quickly learn new programs and applications

- High level of attention to detail

Background in residential mortgage asset financing
